Shaker for A Day- Shaker Architecture and Woodworking

Join the Enfield Shaker Museum this summer for our new program for children ages 8 – 12. Each “Shaker for A Day” will include multiple hands-on stations where children and their parents can participate in different activities. Each session will have a different focus and a special workshop that will help participants immerse themselves in the theme of the day.

For the July 8th session, the theme will be Shaker Architecture and Woodworking. A tour of the Great Stone Dwelling will introduce participants to the Shakers use of built-in drawers and pegboards to store clothing and other items. They will learn about historic woodworking tools as they watch a demonstration of their use and then they will finish by making their own Shaker pegboard to take home.

Cost: Included with Museum Admission. Pre-registration required for the pegboard workshop at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

For more information or to pre-register, call the Museum at (603) 632-4346 or email the Museum at education@shakermuseum.org.
