Shaker for a Day Broom Making

Sunday, June 10 1:00 am – 4:00 pm

Shaker for A Day - Broom Making

Join the Enfield Shaker Museum this summer for our new program for children ages 8 – 12. Each “Shaker for A Day” will include multiple hands-on stations where children and their parents can participate in different activities. Each session will have a different focus and a special workshop that will help participants immerse themselves in the theme of the day.

For the June 10th session, the theme will be broom making. The Shakers invented the flat broom and developed several pieces of equipment to allow them to successfully make and sell thousands of brooms. Participants will visit our on-site broom making shop, learn about the craft from an experienced broom squire, and finish up by making their own broom to take home.

Cost: Included with Museum Admission. Pre-registration required for the broom making workshops at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

For more information or to pre-register for the broom making workshop, call the Museum at (603) 632-4346 or email the Museum at education@shakermuseum.org.
