Shaker for A Day- Herbs and Gardening

Sunday, August 5 1:00 am – 4:00 pm

Shaker for A Day- Herbs and Gardening

Join the Enfield Shaker Museum this summer for our new program for children ages 8 – 12. Each “Shaker for A Day” will include multiple hands-on stations where children and their parents can participate in different activities. Each session will have a different focus and a special workshop that will help participants immerse themselves in the theme of the day.

For the August 5th session, the theme will be herbs and gardening. The Shakers were known for their use of herbs and other plants in cooking, for medicinal purposes, and as dye materials. Participants will tour the Museum herb garden to touch, smell, taste, and see the variety of herbs grown by the Shakers. They will have a chance to harvest and press some of the herbs to make an herbal compendium to take home.

Cost: Included with Museum Admission

For more information, call the Museum at (603) 632-4346 or email the Museum at education@shakermuseum.org.
