Tuesday Tour: The Shakers and the Civil War

The American Civil War was the most important and tragic event of the 19th century. This conflict had and continues to have an immense impact on American Society. Join our Museum Education Coordinator, Kyle Sandler, for an in-depth discussion of the achievements, challenges and tragedies of Shaker life during the American Civil War.

Blueberry Jam Making Workshop

Using plump organic blueberries from the Museum’s gardens, learn to make decadent, sparkling jam!  Discussion will include acid/pectic mixtures, and commercial vs natural pectins.  Go home with a jar of your own jam!

Cost: $35 per person. $30 members. Class size limited to 8.
