Shaker for A Day- Sheep to Shawl

Sunday, July 22 1:00 am – 4:00 pm

Shaker for A Day- Sheep to Shawl

Join the Enfield Shaker Museum this summer for our new program for children ages 8 – 12. Each “Shaker for A Day” will include multiple hands-on stations where children and their parents can participate in different activities. Each session will have a different focus and a special workshop that will help participants immerse themselves in the theme of the day.

For the July 22nd session, the theme will be sheep and wool. The Enfield Shakers owned large flocks of Merino sheep from which they sheered, carded, spun and wove or knit cloth and garments. We will have live sheep on hand, as well as shorn wool for them to card and spin. Each of the children will have a chance to use wool cards and a drop spindle.

Cost: Included with Museum Admission

For more information, call the Museum at (603) 632-4346 or email the Museum at education@shakermuseum.org.
