Have you ever wanted to learn more about your family history? Join genealogist, Richard Dabrowski for a full-day workshop which will take you through the ins and outs of genealogy. Richard first became a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society in 1965, and has been researching, finding relatives, and helping others find missing family members for more than 50 years.
Session I (Morning): For beginning and intermediate genealogists: Using www.ancestry.com, www.familysearch.org, and Ancestral Quest 15, participants will learn how to find “lost” relatives and build a family tree. Topics will include finding the “hidden databases” on both sites, uploading sources and photographs, locating other family researchers, organizing documentation, and writing a genealogy to be shared with other family members.
Session II (Afternoon): For intermediate and advanced genealogists: Using free online databases (U.S. and Europe), government indexes and databases, civil and sacramental records, military records, newspapers, microfilm, and other primary source materials, participants will augment what is available on www.ancestry.com and www.familysearch.org to find more information about your family than you ever thought possible.
