Herbal Medicine: From Garden to Teacup

Join Vermont herbalist Betzy Bancroft for an educational tour of the herb garden at Enfield Shaker Museum, Herbal Medicine: From Garden to Teacup.  The afternoon will begin with a wolk in the beautiful gardens to meet a variety of common medicinal herbs and discuss their accurate identification and practical uses for home remedies. As we wander through the gardens, we’ll gather some of the herbs and use them to prepare a batch of fresh herbal tea for the group to share.  Students will participate in the whole process of harvesting and preparing the herbs for the tea, and we will also discuss drying and storage and other methods of herbal medicine preparation.  All are welcome.

Museum Members – $25/person

Non-Members – $30/person

Class size limited to 25. Advance registration is required.

Betzy Bancroft loves to introduce people to her friends, the plants. She has been teaching herbal medicines for more than 3 decades. Currently she serves on the faculty of the Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism in Plainfield, VT and also gives walks and workshops at the beautiful Sage Mountain Herbal Retreat Center in East Barre, VT
