World Wide Knit In Public Day

June 11, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

World Wide Knit in Public Day was started in 2005. It began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Knitting is such a solitary act that it’s easy to knit alone somewhere and sink into your work without thinking about all the other knitters out there.
WWKIPDAY is really about showing the general public that knitting can be a community activity in a very distinct way.

The Shakers knit and so do we!

Join us on the lawn of the Brethren’s Shops for an afternoon of knitting and a sneak peek at our Weather-Wise exhibit, featuring Tempestries knit by local knitters!
Don’t have a current project? We will be knitting washcloths for Ukrainian refugees. We’ll provide the cotton yarn and a dishcloth pattern for anyone willing to knit for the cause. We even have needles if you don’t!
Not a knitting expert? No problem! We’ve got some folks on hand who are happy to help. Whether you need a refresher or have never knit before, you’re more than welcome to join us!
