We invite our Members to join us for an week of exclusive tours and digital releases! This year, Member Appreciation Week will feature:

July 6 | 11 AM | Garden Tea & Tour

To kick off the week, join Garden Coordinator Diana Kimball-Anderson for an exclusive tour through the Museum’s gardens in all their picturesque midsummer glory. Afterwards, join us for mid-morning tea and cookies made from garden herbs and berries! Pre-registration encouraged.

July 8 | 10 AM | Shapes of a Shaker Village 2.0

Led by Education Coordinator Kyle Sandler, this guided tour will focus on how the Enfield Shakers developed their material and built environment from 1793 to 1923 to best serve the unique needs of a communal society. During the tour, we will discuss site layout, architecture, and material culture. Please wear comfortable shoes! Pre-registration encouraged.

July 10 | 10 AM | A Walk with Hervey Elkins

Former Enfield Shaker Hervey Elkins is best known for his book 15 Years in the Senior Order of Shakers, published in 1853 two years after he left the Shakers.  Hervey was an eloquent writer, and his observations of life at Enfield are some of the best descriptions we have of Shaker life during that time period.  Join Michael O’Connor for a tour of the Great Stone Dwelling illustrated with Hervey’s vivid descriptions of the building and the lives of the Shakers residing within it. Please wear comfortable shoes! Pre-registration encouraged.

July 12 | 12 PM | Digital Release: An Interview with Richard Dabrowski, Buildings & Grounds Committee

This exclusive digital release will feature an interview with Richard Dabrowski, long-time Buildings & Grounds Committee member. Dick will discuss current historic preservation efforts taking place in various buildings around the Enfield Shaker site. No need to register to receive this interview – a link to to the video will be mailed to all Museum Members on July 12 at 12 PM!
