DESCRIPTION:Shaker-Inspired Winter Solstice Dinner\nDecember 21\, 2022   7:00 pm\nGreat Stone Dwelling\n  \nCelebrate the beginning of the winter season\, and the shortest day of the year with a Shaker-inspired dinner lovingly prepared by Chef Tony Rinella. \nGather and dine with us on Wednesday\, December 21st at 7:00 pm as we acknowledge nature’s ever-changing cycles\, connect as a community\, and revel in the peace and magic of the Christmas season. \nEach table in the Meeting Room of the Great Stone Dwelling will be adorned with a two-foot tabletop tree centerpiece\, thoughtfully decorated by supporters of Enfield Shaker Museum to be auctioned off during the evening to guests in attendance. \nThe three-course meal includes: \nPear and Buratta Salad with Arugula\, Candied Walnuts\, and Citrus Vin \nBaked Pork Loin in an Apple and Onion Cider Cream Sauce \nRoasted Brussels Sprouts with Parmesan\, and Sweet Potatoes \nMaple White Chocolate Bread Pudding with Homemade Caramel Sauce \n14 Hands Cabernet Sauvignon \nA bar with assorted beer\, wine\, cider\, and mixed drinks will be available for purchase as well. \n  \nAfter dinner\, a candlelight sing-a-long of favorite Shaker hymns and Christmas carols will bring the evening to peaceful conclusion. DESCRIPTION:The Museum’s Weather-Wise project continues! Funded by New Hampshire Humanities\, this project helps us examine the impact of weather and longer-term climate change. In 2021\, we inaugurated the project with four online lectures about weather and its documentation\, and its impact on historical events and in art. \nThis winter we are offering a Weather-Wise book club and our community-curated exhibition based on Enfield Shakers and the weather. \nOur first book is Guinevere Glasfurd’s The Year Without Summer: One Event\, Six Lives\, A World Changed (2020). Recently longlisted for the 2021 Walter Scott Prize\, you can read a book review here. \nWe’ll discuss this intriguing novel in a hybrid meeting at 7 pm on March 3\, 2022.
