SUMMARY:2025 Mary Keane Chapel Summer Concert Series
DESCRIPTION:Mary Keane Chapel Summer Concert Series\nSunday\, August 24th\, 2025\n4:00 pm Start\nAll concerts will be held in the Mary Keane Chapel\nEnfield Shaker Museum\n447 NH Route 4A\nEnfield\, NH 03748\nshakermuseum.org \nSuggested donation $15.00. All concert donations support the ongoing restoration of the organ. \nAll concerts will be followed by a reception in the Museum Herb Garden (weather permitting) or in the Great Stone Dwelling. \nSolo Organ Recital – Henry Danaher \nHenry Danaher is the Director of Music at the Church of Christ at Dartmouth College in Hanover\, NH\, and also serves as College\nOrganist at Dartmouth College.\nThe program will include masterworks from the French symphonic organ style and selections from his upcoming organ recitals in\nLithuania. \n  \nHenry Danaher\nOrgan Restoration Update\nBob Waters and Richard Nickerson are continuing to address important restoration needs on the Casavant organ in the Museum’s Mary Keane Chapel. This fall and winter they removed and completely rebuilt the wind chest that receives and regulates the air pressure produced by the organ’s electric blower. This included replacing all the original leather work that controls the release of air to the organ pipes. In addition to maintaining the organ’s tuning\, they have been repairing coupling mechanisms that have failed. Unfortunately the Casavant company no longer makes certain replacement parts\, so some aspects of the restoration work requires creative problem solving. We are fortunate to\nhave two craftsmen\, well versed in the intricacies of Casavant organ construction\, caring for this precious instrument. \nThank you for your support of their ongoing restoration work.

Bach\, and Percy Whitlock. \n \nOrgan Restoration Update\nBob Waters and Richard Nickerson are continuing to address important restoration needs on the Casavant organ in the Museum’s Mary Keane Chapel. \n

SUMMARY:Free Concert - The Twangtown Paramours
DESCRIPTION:2024 Outdoor Summer Concert Series\nThe Twangtown Paramours\nWednesday\, August 7\, 2024\nLive music starts at 7 pm. Vending begins at 6 pm.\n  \nJoin us outside the historic Stone Machine Shop for a FREE concert with The Twangtown Paramours! \nNashville-based husband-and-wife duo Mike T. Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer\, known on stage as The Twangtown Paramours\, have made a name for themselves defying boundaries with their award-winning catalogue of Americana\, folk\, and blues anthems. With a slew of accolades for their three full-length albums\, they’ve earned a loyal following\, balancing serious instrumental and vocal chops with witty stage banter and a lighthearted approach to life. They don’t take themselves\, or the world\, too seriously. With their third album\, Double Down on a Bad Thing\, The Twangtown Paramours shift gears to showcase a full band\, electric\, groove-oriented\, upbeat\, soul-infused\, and retro blues sound. “We want people to have fun\, to cheer up\, to dance\, and to start sporting a positive attitude\, dammit\,” says Mike. \nHit songwriter\, session musician\, and producer Mike Lewis was born in NYC\, but his sound is informed by a mix of experiences across the country’s major music centers\, including NYC\, L.A.\, Austin\, and Nashville. He began learning classical and jazz guitar at age eight\, studying under Leonid Bolotine\, William Matthews\, and Barry Galbraith\, before earning degrees at Columbia in New York City and the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. He wrote a #1 platinum pop hit ranked the 2nd biggest-selling female ballad of all time in Korea\, and occasionally plays upright bass for Jimmie Dale Gilmore. \nBorn in Washington D.C.\, lead singer MaryBeth Zamer was raised on a mix of opera and American songbook music\, singing along to Dean Martin and Ella Fitzgerald\, before discovering Little Feat\, Bonnie Raitt\, and the blues in high school. A fixture in the Washington\, D.C. club scene for years\, MaryBeth performed with popular local cover band\, Ignition and sang backup vocals for Eva Cassidy’s band\, Method Actor. “Eva was a huge influence on my singing style\,” MaryBeth says. “She taught me to go beyond having fun and hitting the right notes\, to sing in a way that conveys real emotion.” \nBring your chairs and blankets and enjoy this Outdoor Summer Concert. \nBeer\, hard cider\, wine\, soda\, and snacks will be available to purchase during the concert. \nMascoma Enfield Lions Club will be on site with its food truck. \nLive music will start at 7 pm.
