SUMMARY:Free Concert - The Twangtown Paramours
DESCRIPTION:2024 Outdoor Summer Concert Series\nThe Twangtown Paramours\nWednesday\, August 7\, 2024\nLive music starts at 7 pm. Vending begins at 6 pm.\n  \nJoin us outside the historic Stone Machine Shop for a FREE concert with The Twangtown Paramours! \nNashville-based husband-and-wife duo Mike T. Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer\, known on stage as The Twangtown Paramours\, have made a name for themselves defying boundaries with their award-winning catalogue of Americana\, folk\, and blues anthems. With a slew of accolades for their three full-length albums\, they’ve earned a loyal following\, balancing serious instrumental and vocal chops with witty stage banter and a lighthearted approach to life. They don’t take themselves\, or the world\, too seriously. With their third album\, Double Down on a Bad Thing\, The Twangtown Paramours shift gears to showcase a full band\, electric\, groove-oriented\, upbeat\, soul-infused\, and retro blues sound. “We want people to have fun\, to cheer up\, to dance\, and to start sporting a positive attitude\, dammit\,” says Mike. \nHit songwriter\, session musician\, and producer Mike Lewis was born in NYC\, but his sound is informed by a mix of experiences across the country’s major music centers\, including NYC\, L.A.\, Austin\, and Nashville. He began learning classical and jazz guitar at age eight\, studying under Leonid Bolotine\, William Matthews\, and Barry Galbraith\, before earning degrees at Columbia in New York City and the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. He wrote a #1 platinum pop hit ranked the 2nd biggest-selling female ballad of all time in Korea\, and occasionally plays upright bass for Jimmie Dale Gilmore. \nBorn in Washington D.C.\, lead singer MaryBeth Zamer was raised on a mix of opera and American songbook music\, singing along to Dean Martin and Ella Fitzgerald\, before discovering Little Feat\, Bonnie Raitt\, and the blues in high school. A fixture in the Washington\, D.C. club scene for years\, MaryBeth performed with popular local cover band\, Ignition and sang backup vocals for Eva Cassidy’s band\, Method Actor. “Eva was a huge influence on my singing style\,” MaryBeth says. “She taught me to go beyond having fun and hitting the right notes\, to sing in a way that conveys real emotion.” \nBring your chairs and blankets and enjoy this Outdoor Summer Concert. \nBeer\, hard cider\, wine\, soda\, and snacks will be available to purchase during the concert. \nMascoma Enfield Lions Club will be on site with its food truck. \nLive music will start at 7 pm. Tickets include cocktail/mocktail tasting (4 samples)\, hors d’oeuvres buffet\, and music. \nMuseum members – $35/person or $60/couple \nNon-members – $45/person or $75/couple \nWant to know more about Grace Marie Wallace?\nGrace Marie Wallace was born and raised in Worcestershire England\, and started studying classical piano & flute at 11 years of age through ABRSM. After moving to the US\, she became involved with Interplay Jazz & Arts where she discovered her love for jazz vocals. She has had the privilege to study with some amazing jazz vocalists including Madeline Kole & Natalia Bernal\, and for the past four years has been performing in the Upper Valley area of NH & VT. \nRead what people are saying about Grace Marie Wallace:\n\n“I’ll never forget her name. What a great\, young\, fresh voice she is. Her tone is clear as a bell. She sings with a buoyancy and happiness that is easily transferred to her audience.  I look forward to hearing her again and again. “ \nArthur Bakopolus – Arthur’s House of Jazz\, Methuen MA \n“Grace Marie Wallace is one of the finest singers I have worked with. I first heard about her from my colleagues who worked with her at the Interplay jazz camp\, and when I learned I was going to be playing some gigs with her I assumed she would be a talented and promising amateur\, given that she is an accomplished medical researcher and not primarily a musician. Boy was I surprised! Grace’s pitch is impeccable\, her taste in songs eclectic\, with an ear toward obscure gems\, and her thirst for musical knowledge is insatiable\, not to mention the incredible speed at which she attains it. Her sense of rhythm helps an ensemble groove harder. Her commitment to the meaning of the lyric and her appreciation for space and nuance make every performance a unique\, profound experience. Grace is the real deal\, and I can’t wait to hear what she does next.”\nMark Shilansky\nAssociate Professor at Berklee College of Music\nResident Artist at University of New Hampshire
