SUMMARY:Soft Jazz and Cocktails
DESCRIPTION:Soft Jazz and Cocktails\nAll Jazzed Up with Sophisticated Sips\nSaturday\, July 8\, 2023\n7:30 – 9:30 pm\nWhat could be better than live soft jazz and cocktails on a warm summer night? Join us for a taste journey featuring herbal infused cocktails and mocktails paired with a sumptuous hors d’oeuvres buffet as you enjoy the Grace Marie Wallace Quartet preforming their one-of-kind smooth jazz! Grace will be accompanied by Peter Concilio on bass\, Tim Gilmore on drums\, and Bob Merrill on piano. \n\nHerbal cocktails excite the taste buds\, offer a refreshing treat on humid summer days and are a favorite way to use plants during the summertime. They can be made as a mocktail or cocktail\, depending on your personal preference. The cocktail tasting includes four types of drinks and recipes to try at home. Once you find the drink you like the best\, a full-sized version will be available to purchase. \nCocktail tasting and hors d’oeuvres begin at 7:30 pm. Music begins at 8:00 pm. \n\nCall some friends and get a table together (tables seat 6) for this delicious and entertaining evening in the Historic Stone Mill Building! \nAdvanced reservations required. All guests must be at least 21 years old. Tickets include cocktail/mocktail tasting (4 samples)\, hors d’oeuvres buffet\, and music. \nMuseum members – $35/person or $60/couple \nNon-members – $45/person or $75/couple \nWant to know more about Grace Marie Wallace?\nGrace Marie Wallace was born and raised in Worcestershire England\, and started studying classical piano & flute at 11 years of age through ABRSM. After moving to the US\, she became involved with Interplay Jazz & Arts where she discovered her love for jazz vocals. She has had the privilege to study with some amazing jazz vocalists including Madeline Kole & Natalia Bernal\, and for the past four years has been performing in the Upper Valley area of NH & VT. \nRead what people are saying about Grace Marie Wallace:\n\n“I’ll never forget her name. What a great\, young\, fresh voice she is. Her tone is clear as a bell. She sings with a buoyancy and happiness that is easily transferred to her audience.  I look forward to hearing her again and again. “ \nArthur Bakopolus – Arthur’s House of Jazz\, Methuen MA \n“Grace Marie Wallace is one of the finest singers I have worked with. I first heard about her from my colleagues who worked with her at the Interplay jazz camp\, and when I learned I was going to be playing some gigs with her I assumed she would be a talented and promising amateur\, given that she is an accomplished medical researcher and not primarily a musician. Boy was I surprised! Grace’s pitch is impeccable\, her taste in songs eclectic\, with an ear toward obscure gems\, and her thirst for musical knowledge is insatiable\, not to mention the incredible speed at which she attains it. Her sense of rhythm helps an ensemble groove harder. Her commitment to the meaning of the lyric and her appreciation for space and nuance make every performance a unique\, profound experience. Grace is the real deal\, and I can’t wait to hear what she does next.”\nMark Shilansky\nAssociate Professor at Berklee College of Music\nResident Artist at University of New Hampshire
