Join Museum Coordinators\, Maddie Dusseault and Susan Quinlan for a workshop of creativity in the Great Stone Dwelling. You and your child will have an opportunity to handcraft old-fashioned holiday decorations and gifts. \nMorning Activities (4 – 7 year old) include:\nOrnaments\nAdd a little imagination\, to paint and decorate a natural wood ornament. Hung with twine\, these personalized decorations will add a charming rustic addition to your Christmas decor. \nCandle Making\n\nHandcraft your own beeswax sheet candles. We will provide instructions and all supplies for you to hand roll a set of colorful candles to light for your special holiday festivities. \nFragrant Sachets\nFill beautiful\, reusable\, drawstring organza sachet bags\, with dried herbs from our garden\, balsam needles from the forest and kitchen spices to create a handcrafted set of three fragrant aromas to enjoy this holiday season. \nAfternoon Activities (8-12 year old) include:\nCandle Making\n\nHandcraft your own beeswax sheet candles. We will provide instructions and all supplies for you to hand roll a set of colorful candles to light for your special holiday festivities. \nDecorative tray\n\nCreate a unique serving tray to give to that special someone on your gift list using beautiful botanical napkins\, decoupage and acrylic paint. Servings trays and all the supplies needed will be supplied. \nPlexiglass Bauble\nGive the gift of herbal goodness straight from the Enfield Shaker Museum gardens this holiday season!  Create a plexiglass bauble ornament filled with one of a kind dried herbs and flowers grown right here at Enfield Shaker Museum. \n  \nChildren must be accompanied by one adult. \nAdvanced registration required. Enfield Shaker Museum invites you to join us for a night of holiday spirit\, connection and great food prepared by Chef Lindsay Smith. \nThe evening will start at 6:00pm with a cheese board and cocktails in the Dining Room where several raffle trees will be on display. Then guests will be encouraged to get seated around 6:45 pm for a family-style serving of the Solstice meal. Dessert will be served as an individual plate with coffee or tea. \nThe 2024 Winter Solstice Dinner Menu includes: \nA local cheese board with various accompaniments in the Meeting Room upstairs. \nGreen Salad with Shaker Gingered Carrots\, Goat Cheese\, Glazed Walnuts with Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette \nHancock Shaker Village Flank Steak with Gravy \nChosen Vale Potato Pie \nSlow-Roasted Root-Cellar Vegetables \nSister Emma Neal’s Soft Gingerbread Cake with Spiced Pickled Pears and Fresh Cream \n*A bar will be available with assorted beverages and mixed drinks in the Meeting Room. One drink is included with your ticket price. \n  \nLearn more about the Chef – Lindsay Smith: \nLindsay Smith returns to the Shaker Museum as Chef Lindsay! In previous years\, Lindsay oversaw the Shaker Garden\, worked as an administrative assistant\, and one summer even worked in the gift shop when it was located in the old Laundry building. She has also been known to pop up a time or two as a penguin during the Shaker Snow Shoe Festival.
