SUMMARY:2025 Summer Outdoor Concert Series
DESCRIPTION:2025 Summer Outdoor Concert Series\nLive music starts at 7 pm. Vending begins at 6 pm.\nOn the lawn at the Stone Machine Shop.\nWhat’s better than a relaxing evening outside? FREE live music! \nJoin us on the lawn of the beautiful Stone Machine Shop on Wednesdays of July and August for some free\, live music! Bring chairs or a picnic blanket and spread out on the lawn and listen to the band play. \nBring a picnic dinner to enjoy or purchase food from the on-site food truck. You’re welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. (State liquor laws prohibit outside alcohol from being brought onto the premises.) \nThis is not a BYOB event. \nLeashed and well-behaved dogs are welcome to join us. \nVending begins at 6 pm and the music starts at 7 pm. The Museum’s gift shop will also be open for visitors to visit either before or during the show. \nIn the case of bad weather\, the show will go on!\nWe will move the concert inside. Unfortunately\, picnic blankets might be slightly less comfortable on the wood floor. \nBeer\, hard cider\, wine\, soda\, and snacks will be available to purchase during the concert. \nConcert Dates:\nJuly 2nd – Twangtown Paramours\nVendor: Enfield House of Pizza\n \nNashville-based husband-and-wife duo Mike T. Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer\, known on stage as The Twangtown Paramours\, have made a name for themselves defying boundaries with their award-winning catalogue of Americana\, Folk\, and Blues anthems. With a slew of accolades for their first three full-length albums\, they’ve earned a loyal following\, balancing serious instrumental and vocal chops with witty stage banter and a lighthearted approach to life.  Their latest album\, The Wind Will Change Again\, is an acoustic Folk record consisting of a collection of songs that the Twangers call their best to date. It was released in January of 2025 to rave reviews\, came in at #1 on the Folk Alliance International Chart\, and had six of the top ten songs for the month of release. \nHit songwriter\, session musician\, and producer Mike Lewis was born in NYC\, but his sound is informed by a mix of experiences across the country’s major music centers\, including NYC\, L.A.\, Austin\, and Nashville. Lead singer MaryBeth Zamer was a fixture in the Washington\, DC club scene for years and preformed with a popular local cover band before meeting up with Mike in 2009.  They released their debut self-titled album in 2010. \nJuly 9th – Never Too Late\nVendor: Enfield Mascoma Lion’s Club\n \nNever Too Late creates Americana and classic folk music performances with rich vocal harmonies accompanied by lively instrumentation. Whether the performance is an outdoor festival or intimate coffeehouse\, Never Too Late fully engages the audience for a fun and memorable experience. Band members include: \nSinger-songwriter Hilde Ojibway creates songs for the band that reflect life’s light and textures; \nMulti-talented Adam Sorscher stirs with his mandolin\, guitar\, banjo and vocal harmonies; \nOutstanding bassist Eric Bronstein marries folk and jazz traditions to ground the band’s sound; \nStunning vocalist Bethany Nafzinger soars with solo performances and heavenly harmonies. \nJuly 16th – Still Hill\nVendor: Enfield Mascoma Lion’s Club\n \nFormed in early 2016 and hailing from the woods of central Vermont\, Still Hill plays a unique blend of progressive bluegrass dipped in folk\, Americana\, and old-time roots music. This hands-on session will introduce you to essential collage techniques such as cutting\, layering\, and arranging printed papers\, with a special focus on incorporating plant-inspired designs. You’ll learn how to use repetition\, symmetry\, and contrast to create visually dynamic compositions\, all while exploring the elegance of botanical forms. With a variety of materials to work with\, including botanical images and patterned papers\, you’ll have the opportunity to create a unique piece that reflects the natural beauty of plants. \nWorkshop 2: Botanical Printed Paper Collage – July 10th\, 2025\n\nObjective: Use the prints created in the first workshop to create botanical-themed collages.\nMaterials: Gel prints\, scissors\, glue\, additional botanical images\, patterned papers\, and other collage materials.\nActivities:\n\nCollage Techniques: Introduction to collage basics—cutting\, layering\, and arranging printed papers to form a cohesive composition.\nBotanical Design Focus: Guide participants in using their prints to create collages\, focusing on the beauty and simplicity of plant forms. Discuss how botanical elements can be combined to evoke natural themes and designs.\nLayering and Composition: Explore different ways to balance and layer paper\, encouraging participants to work with repetition\, symmetry\, or contrast to create dynamic collages.\n\n\n\n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\nWorkshop 3: Journal Making with Botanical Prints and Collage – August 14th\, 2025\n\nObjective: Teach participants to create a journal using their botanical prints and collages.\nMaterials: Collage materials from previous workshops\, blank pages\, binding materials (needle\, thread\, cardboard or chipboard)\, botanical images for decoration.\nActivities:\n\nIntroduction to Journal Binding: Demonstrate a simple binding technique like pamphlet stitching to create the structure of the journal.\nDecorating the Journal: Participants will decorate their journal covers and pages using their botanical prints\, collages\, and additional elements such as stamps\, drawings\, or stenciling.\n\nPersonalizing the Journal: Encourage participants to use their journals for future creative projects\, notes\, or sketches\, giving them space to reflect and design with botanical inspiration\n\n\n\n\nWho is Pam Smith? \n\nPam is a New Hampshire artist and printmaker. She is an avid gardener\, and her creative inspiration comes from the natural beauty all around us. Her work ranges from botanical relief prints and monoprints to whimsical collages and often combines traditional printmaking\, painting and mixed media. \nPam’s original linocut prints and monoprints are designed\, hand-carved\, and hand-pressed by hand at Art Haven Studio in Enfield. SUMMARY:Woven Rocks with Jean Reed
DESCRIPTION:Woven Rocks\nwith Jean Reed\nFriday\, July 11th\, 2025\n2:00 pm – 6:00 pm\nEnfield Shaker Museum \n447 NH Route 4A \nEnfield\, NH 03748 \nLet me share my weaving knowledge with you\, allowing you to create your own weaving patterns on rocks.  This unusual art form will give you some very basic weaving techniques with materials such as jute\, leather\, waxed linens and other cordages. \nThis is a wonderful way to embellish rocks you may have picked up on the trails or at the beaches\, during your travels.  Some of my rocks have come all the way from Ireland and Colorado.  Others that were gathered from a New Hampshire river bed will be supplied to you\, along with all the materials and tools needed to create unique weaving patterns. \nI urge you to bring some rocks of your own and a couple of small branches (twisted grapevine is great or tiny pieces of driftwood). Keep in mind as you collect rocks\, that no shape or size should be overlooked.  As you can see from the photos\, I’ve used a variety of large (5-6”)\, small (at least 3”)\, flat rocks are easiest to work with but round ones are a good challenge. \nFeel free to contact me at murrayhillweaving@gmail.com  with questions. \n \nLearn more about the Instructor: \nMurray Hill Weaving is Jean Reed’s dream come true – resulting from her love of basketry\, and weaving for over 45 years. \nBasketry classes took a natural turn into chair seating and other types of art which include a variety of children’s workshops.
