DESCRIPTION:Art Hearts: Gel Printmaking with Shapes & Botanicals\nDiscover the joy of mindful making in this gel-printing workshop inspired by the simplicity\, harmony\, and handcraft traditions of the Shakers. Drawing inspiration from Shaker “gift drawings\,” such as those made by Polly Jane Reed in 1844 in Massachusetts\, we’ll explore how heartfelt symbolism and creativity can help you make your own unique prints.\n\nYou’ll experiment with layering techniques using botanical elements\, geometric shapes\, and heart-centered motifs to create beautiful monoprints to keep or to share.\n\nNo experience is necessary.\n\nWho is Pam Smith?\n\nPam is a New Hampshire printmaker and multi-media artist whose work is deeply inspired by the natural world. She creates botanical relief prints\, monoprints\, and whimsical mixed-media collages that blend traditional printmaking with painting and other techniques.\nPam’s linocuts and monoprints are designed\, carved\, and hand-pressed in her Enfield studio.
