SUMMARY:Weekly Shaker Herb Garden Tour
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””] \nWeekly Shaker Herb Garden Tour\nwith Herbalist Happy Griffiths\nFridays at 11 am\, meet by the rose bushes in the garden\nJoin renowned herbalist and founder of the Enfield Shaker Museum Herb Garden\, Happy Griffiths\, for a guided tour through one of the Museum’s most beloved living exhibits. \nDiscover the fascinating history of the Shakers’ herb-growing traditions as you explore beds of culinary\, medicinal\, aromatic\, and dye plants. Along the way\, Happy will share stories of how these herbs were cultivated and used by the Enfield Shakers\, as well as their practical uses in today’s gardens and homes. \nWith decades of experience as an herbalist\, educator\, and the visionary behind the Museum’s herb garden\, Happy brings each tour to life with engaging insights and a deep appreciation for the connections between people\, plants\, and history. The Museum’s herb garden features many of the same plants that were grown by the Shakers as part of their thriving herb and medicine enterprise. \nFridays at 11:00 a.m. \nTours are free with Museum admission and are open to visitors of all ages. Whether you’re an avid gardener\, curious about herbal traditions\, or simply looking for a beautiful way to experience the Museum grounds\, this tour offers a unique opportunity to explore the living legacy of the Enfield Shakers. \nWhat to Expect \nTours last approximately one hour and take place rain or shine\, except in the case of thunder or lightning. Much of the tour is outdoors in full sun\, so we recommend dressing for the weather\, wearing comfortable walking shoes\, and bringing water\, sunscreen\, or rain gear as needed. \nThe herb garden features maintained paths\, but visitors should expect some uneven terrain. Benches are available in both sunny and shaded areas throughout the garden for those who would like to sit during the tour. \nVisitors are encouraged to engage all of their senses. You’ll have opportunities to see\, smell\, and ~when invited by your guide~ even taste selected herbs. To help preserve the garden and support the Museum’s educational mission\, we ask that visitors do not pick plants or harvest herbs during the tour.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”43041\,43040\,43039\,43038\,41538\,38962\,38961\,37884\,33653\,31553\,30263″ img_size=”medium” onclick=”” css=”” title=”Shaker Museum Herb Garden”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
