Over the last year, so many people have walked the grounds of Enfield Shaker Museum. Some solitary strollers seemed lost in thought, but safe in the Museum’s comforting landscape. More determined walkers counted steps as they enjoyed the beautiful views this historic site provides. Though the Museum was closed much of the time, its grounds were open, and required no admission fee.
We’ve already taken our first steps into the New Year. Many of us are examining our habits, our acts, even our relationships, and resolving to do more, do less, or just do something!
This past year has changed some of our resolutions as much as it has tested our resolve, both individually and collectively. We at Enfield Shaker Museum thank you for support during this most extraordinary year. With you walking with us, we expanded our digital presence through online programming, an increasingly accessible and educational website, and an active social media presence. With the help of a National Endowment for the Humanities CARES Act grant, we caught up with our collection work and prepared new tours. We planted an apple orchard and donated food from our production garden. We made great gains in our site’s preservation.
The Covid-19 pandemic spurred the Museum’s board, staff, volunteers, and members to think anew about what we do. And we got through 2020. We thank you for your generous support—in all the forms in which it was offered.
Yet challenges remain. As we begin our journey into 2021, we carry with us the knowledge that we are beginning the New Year with reduced means. We humbly ask if you will walk into the New Year with us, by resolving to make a gift to the Enfield Shaker Museum. With you, we can continue to enrich peoples’ lives. Click Here to Give Online
If you have already given, thank you.
With warm wishes to you and yours for a healthy, happy, and prosperous New Year,
