The Shaker Herb Garden is hosting a plant sale as part of the opening of the Gardens for the season. Explore our 10,000 square foot historic herb beds and witness the beauty and green energy of the plants vibrant spring growth. The sale will be at the front steps of the Great Stone Dwelling, under a pop-up tent.
Each herb seedling is in a 4 inch pot and was organically raised in Coast of Maine Potting Soil. Natives, culinary, medicinals and more.
They are being sold for $3.00. All proceeds will be used to fund our garden expenses and projects.
The Herbs were donated by a current Gardener for the sale.
Visitors will have the opportunity to meet some of our dedicated gardeners and volunteers, who care for the our garden exhibit. Enjoy a self guided tours, hands-on activities, and insightful discussions about the rich history and uses of the herbs.
Visit our newly created Children’s Sensory Herb Garden, where children can explore the plants with their curiosity and senses. Located on the north side of the Blueberry bushes this space offers a safe spot for the young and the young at heart.
A formal guided Herb tour will be offer by herbalist Happy Griffiths and Susan Quinlan at 12:00 pm.
