Want to explore the Shaker trails while learning about the history of the buildings and structures along the way? Then join us for our monthly Hike into History!
The woods and the outdoors have always been essential to the New England, and especially the New Hampshire identity. The woodlands around the Enfield Shaker Museum have changed a lot since the Shakers arrived in 1793 until they became the wooded trails we know today. Lean how the woodland landscape of New England has changed, what the Shaker lands were used for, and about the trails around the Shaker Museum!
This hike will be outside and in the woods. Please come prepared with water, snacks, appropriate footwear and layers, and be prepared for sun, rain, cold, bugs, and ticks.
PARKING INFORMATION: Parking can be found at the Stone Machine Shop or in the lot for the Enfield Shaker Museum. Please note if you park in the museum lot that you will have to cross Route 4A to reach the trailhead
