Morning Glory’s with Lauren Harhen

Theorem painting was a popular art form in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. During this introductory class you will learn to cut the set of 3 stencils you will use to stencil oil paint on cotton velveteen to create the pretty morning glories pictured.

Almost everything you will need to complete this project will be provided for you except; please bring an exacto knife with #11 blades and you will want a 5×7 frame for your finished Theorem. Wear a smock or something to protect your clothing and bring a cutting mat and Ott light if you have them.

Your instructor is Lauren Jean Harhen a juried member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration.
