Used for meditation, ceremony, healing, and celebration, the drum invites us to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with ourselves.

Join Master Drumsmith Jane E. King for a meaningful, hands-on workshop where you will create your own 13-inch Sacred Deer Medicine Drum from natural materials. Throughout the day, Jane will guide you through each step of the drum-making process while honoring the spirit of the deer, the gifts of the natural world, and your own personal intentions.

The sacred process of birthing your own personal deer medicine drum is much more than a craft—it is an opportunity for self-discovery, mindfulness, and spiritual connection. As you work with the deer hide, wooden hoop, and the elements of water, air, earth, and fire, you will create an instrument that reflects your own energy, purpose, and healing journey.

Your workshop experience begins with a guided inward journey to connect with the spirit of Deer and receive personal messages and teachings. From there, you will prayerfully prepare and lace your drum, infusing it with intention, gratitude, and your own unique medicine. Whether you are experienced in spiritual practices or completely new to drum making, Jane’s gentle instruction creates a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone.

You will also create a matching drum beater (drumstick), completing a beautiful and functional instrument that you can continue to use for meditation, ceremony, music, healing work, or personal reflection for years to come.
