Join pressed flower artist Ellie Roden, for a delightful hand-on Pressed Flower Art Workshop. You will learn the art and craft of pressing flowers and creating a botanical pressed flower treasure.
Pressed Flower Art Workshop Highlights:
Introduction to Pressing Flowers: Discover the history and artistry behind pressed flowers. Explore the diverse range of flowers suitable for pressing and the best practices for preserving their natural beauty.
Demonstration of Pressing Flowers: Watch a live demonstration by a skilled floral artist showcasing various techniques for pressing flowers.
Hands-on Flower Pressing Session: Roll up your sleeves and get some hands-on experience with pressing your own flowers. Receive guidance on proper techniques, timing, and materials for optimal results.
Designing Pressed Flower Art: Explore creative applications of pressed flowers, including framing, card making, and creating personalized stationery. Learn how to arrange pressed flowers to create beautiful natural compositions.
Preservation and Care: Understand the best practices for preserving the beauty, color, longevity of pressed flowers. Receive insights on framing and storing pressed flower creations.
DIY Project: During the class you will create a card, bookmark, or a 5″ x 7″ work of art with passed flowers.
All materials will be supplied.
Class is limited to 20 participants. Advance registration is required.
Museum Members – $60/person
Non-Members – $68/person

A longtime resident of southern Vermont, retired school teacher, and avid flower gardener, Ellie Roden has been creating art with pressed flowers for many years. She has always been intrigued with the beauty of flowers and presses them as a way to preserve their beauty. Â Ellie is a self-taught pressed flower artist who has honed her craft over years of trial-and-error and careful observation. Her award-winning pressed flower art has been exhibited at shows and galleries throughout New England and has been featured in two national publications.
