Come explore the fascinating process of turning wool into yarn that is ready to knit, crochet, or weave. Demonstration will include a discussion of the properties of different breeds of wool and touch on other non-wool fibers that can be used, preparing fibers by carding or combing, and spinning fibers into yarn on a variety of hand spindles and a modern spinning wheel. In the 2nd half of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at spinning on a drop spindle!
Who is Sarah Dunham?
