Celebrate love and wellness this Valentine’s Day weekend with a rejuvenating retreat at the historic Enfield Shaker Museum. Embrace a winter day of relaxation, renewal, and fun through a harmonious blend of yoga, pilates and mindful practices.
Event Highlights:
Gentle Yoga Class (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM): A one-hour session led by Sonya Carter, focusing on mindfulness, relaxation, and heart-opening poses. Perfect for all levels. (Limited to 20 participants.)
Nourishing Hot Lunch (12:30 PM – 1:30 PM): Enjoy a wholesome, seasonal meal served in the charming Shaker Dining Room.
Afternoon Workshop Choices (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM):
Restorative Yoga Class with Sonya Carter, a deeply relaxing two-hour session for renewal. (Limited to 10 participants.)
Pilates for Core Stabilization with Nicole Trapp: This 2-hour class focuses on Pilates to improve functional mobility, flexibility, and strength, with exercises that can be done at home. We’ll begin with a dynamic warm-up to increase joint mobility and flexibility, then move into Pilates exercises targeting the core, posture, and body awareness. These controlled movements engage deep stabilizing muscles to enhance overall strength. The class concludes with time for questions and tips for incorporating Pilates into your life. This class is perfect for those looking to improve their mobility, flexibility, and strength, with modifications for all levels to make the Pilates practice accessible and effective for everyone. (Limited to 10 participants.)
Closing with Tranquility Herbal Tea (4:00 PM): Conclude the day with a soothing cup of herbal tea and delightful afternoon treats, basking in the peaceful glow of the late-day light.

Sonya Carter
Sonya has been practicing yoga for over fifty years. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance. She is certified to teach Hatha flow yoga (2007), children’s yoga (2010), restorative yoga (2015) and aerial yoga (2018). Sonya is also certified in Reiki (2012, 2015) and Thai Yoga Bodywork (2017, 2018).
Nicole Trapp
Nicole is a Certified Stott Pilates Instructor, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and holds a Master’s degree in Health Science. Currently teaching at River Valley Club, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her over 18 hours per week of group exercise classes. With a focus on functional movement and overall wellness, Nicole’s evidence-based approach ensures that each participant receives personalized attention in a motivating and supportive environment. Whether helping clients improve flexibility, strength, or overall fitness, Nicole is dedicated to empowering individuals on their wellness journeys.
