Shaker Museum Now Open for the 2023 Season.
Enfield Shaker Museum owns, preserves, and interprets the historic core of the original Enfield Shaker Village: nine Shaker-built structures, two Shaker cemeteries, and an outdoor Shaker worship space known as the “Feast Ground”, as well as herb and community gardens.
This season, four exhibits will be on view in the Great Stone Dwelling–“Eldress Rosetta Cummings: A Shaker Life of Consecrated Labor,” “Hands to Work: The Evolution of Enfield Sewing Desks,” a new exhibit opening April 21st entitled “Enfield Shaker Trustees: 1795-1904,” and a new multi-media exhibit opening May 17th on Enfield Shaker Worship, Dance, and Song. The new “Weather-Wise” exhibit continues in the East Brethren’s Shop, as well as an exhibit on Enfield Shaker stoves and wood boxes.
Enfield Shaker Museum will be open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with guided tours at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m., and Sunday from Noon to 5:00 p.m. with guided tours at 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.
The Great Stone Dwelling is open year-round to welcome overnight guests.
