and Story Time Tea Room

Make time for that special child in your life. Join Museum Coordinators, Lisa Rinella and Susan Quinlan for a workshop of creativity in the Great Stone Dwelling. You and your child will have an opportunity to handcraft old-fashioned holiday decorations and gifts. When you are done crafting, join us in our special Holiday Tea Room for holiday treats and storytelling fun.

Morning Activities (4 – 7 year old) include:

Wooden Ornaments

Add a little imagination, to paint and decorate a natural wood ornament. Hung with twine, these personalized decorations will add a charming rustic addition to your Christmas decor.

Beeswax Candles

Handcraft your own beeswax sheet candles. We will provide instructions and all supplies for you to hand roll a set of colorful candles to light for your special holiday festivities.

Fragrant Sachets

Fill beautiful, reusable, drawstring organza sachet bags, with dried herbs from our garden, balsam needles from the forest and kitchen spices to create a handcrafted set of three fragrant aromas to enjoy this holiday season.

Holiday Tea Room

Afternoon Activities (8-12 year old) include:

Beeswax Candles

Handcraft your own beeswax sheet candles. We will provide instructions and all supplies for you to hand roll a set of colorful candles to light for your special holiday festivities.

Stencil-decorated Serving Tray

Create a unique serving tray to give to that special someone on your gift list using beautiful botanical napkins, decoupage and acrylic paint. Servings trays and all the supplies needed will be supplied.

Plexi-Glass Bauble

Give the gift of herbal goodness straight from the Enfield Shaker Museum gardens this holiday season!  Create a plexi-glass bauble ornament filled with one of a kind dried herbs and flowers grown right here at Enfield Shaker Museum.

Holiday Tea Room

Children must be accompanied by one adult.

Advanced registration required. Each session limited to 10 children.

Ticket: Museum Members – $10/child (which includes their adult guest)

Non-Members – $12/child (which includes their adult guest)
